Organization

The Observatory is organized around the Group of Research GIEM (its driving force), structured as follows:

President. Director of GIEM and main core of the Observatory, he acts as representative. There are four focus of work around him.

Secretariat-General, made up of members of the group of research GIEM, Universitat Rovira i Virgili of Tarragona.


The partners of the Observatory are considered nodes or satellites that collaborate, co-ordinate and bring dynamism to the activities of the partners in their respective countries under no particular duty. The partners are the following: Institut Europeu de la Mediterrània (Barcelona, Spain), Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo (Italy - prof. Giuseppe Giliberti), University of Cairo (Egypt - prof. Mahmoud El Sayed), Université Abdelmalek-Es Saadi, Tétouan (Morocco - prof. Mhammad Benaboud), Universidad de Salamanca (Spain - prof. Mercedes Samaniego Boneu), Università di Bologna (Italy - prof. Gustavo Gozzi), University of Malta (Malta - prof. Ian Refalo), Université Lumière - Lyon 2 (France - prof. Mohammed Chérif Ferjani), Organisation Mondiale contre la Torture (Switzerland - Eric Sottas), Observatori sobre l'Acompliment de la Declaració Universal dels Drets Humans en els Drets Econòmics, Socials i Culturals (Spain - Oliver Klein-Bosquet, Terre des Hommes (Italy - Raffaele Salinari), Immaginare l'Europa (Italy - Giorgio Baratta).

The Scientific Committee is managed by the Director of the Observatory and composed of representatives of GIEM and the partners of the Observatory. Their main task is to prepare the activities of the Observatory and to evaluate the economic balance sheet.
